#GivingTuesday is a worldwide philanthropic movement created in 2012 to counteract the consumption of Black Friday and Cyber Monday by inviting the global community to give back after a weekend of spending.
In 2013, #GivingTuesday partners raised $19 million ($142 average gift) and in 2014, #GivingTuesday partners raised $45.68 million ($154 average gift). In 2014, there were 754,600 tweets with the hashtag #GivingTuesday.
#GivingTuesday occurs on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving every year, this year on December 1st, 2015. Fond du Lac non-profits are partnering and will accept donations in person at the Center for Health Professions (formerly AC Nielsen) in downtown Fond du Lac. At this time, we will also be collecting non-perishable food for local food pantries.
Thank you Fond du Lac for all your support on #GivingTuesday 2015! See you next year!
We are a group of Fond du Lac non-profits working together. If you are a Fond du Lac non-profit who would like to join the FDL #GivingTuesday initiative, please fill out the form.
